The game jam is a creative challenge to create a game or a functioning prototype under a week. Jams are opportunities to jumpstart an idea, learn a new tool, improve skills, and meet other developers. By participating in a game jam, you’re leveling up your game development experience in a short amount of time. People love jams because they aren’t tied to their game afterwards. They can either expand on their finished game or start a new one. So join our game jams to connect with the community and finish a game!

The jam will be held both locally as well as online. While the goal is to get as many students at SJSU to participate as possible, the game jam will also be open to the public to make an impact locally. The jam is a great opportunity to begin to grow a community and network with other people interested in making games.

When it comes to online participation, we will live stream the beginning and ending as well as the awards ceremony so no matter where everyone is, they can feel included as a part of the jam. In addition, for those online and looking for a team,help them find teams so that no one is left out.
